The Pope’s Coming to the United States

A momentous occasion is impending: Pope Francis will arrive and spend some time in Washington, D.C., NYC & Philly. Here’s to a healthy, safe & enlightening trip.
I, myself, can’t wait to hear his speech to the Joint Session of Congress. I think that it will be a stunner, in the true sense of the word. I really think, though, that many people are going to be disappointed or distressed with this address. This may lead to a disapproval of his words and actions leading to a downturn in his popularity.
I don’t think that he’s concerned with a low disapproval rating or being unpopular. He will be preaching the Gospel. His job is to be “the conscience of the world”. If he doesn’t do it, who will? He will be very much concerned with the overwhelming majority of the world’s population and how they’re receiving (or more likely) not receiving justice in the world.
